Psychodynamic approach

What is the Psychodynamic Approach?

The psychodynamic approach is a way of understanding how your inner world—your thoughts, feelings, memories, and past experiences—affects how you live your life today.

This approach is based on the idea that some of the things we struggle with (like anxiety, self-doubt, or repeated patterns in relationships) may be connected to experiences we’ve had in the past, especially in childhood, even if we’re not fully aware of it.

How It Helps?

Psychodynamic therapy offers a space to explore your inner life in a safe, non-judgmental way. Together, we look at:
  • Patterns that keep repeating in your relationships or emotions
  • The ways you learned to protect yourself (called defense mechanisms)
  • Unspoken or unprocessed feelings—like grief, anger, or fear
  • How your past might still be shaping your present

What Happens in a Session?
  • You’re encouraged to speak freely about whatever comes to mind—memories, dreams, feelings, or experiences.
  • We may notice and explore certain emotional patterns or ways of relating that show up in your life or even in the therapy room itself.
  • The goal isn’t just to “fix” something quickly, but to help you understand yourself more deeply and create lasting change.

Why It Works?

Sometimes, the struggles we face on the surface—like anxiety or feeling stuck—are connected to deeper emotional layers we haven’t had a chance to process. Psychodynamic therapy helps bring those layers into awareness, so you can respond to life with more freedom, clarity, and self-compassion.
Reflective thinking turns experience into insight.
